Gaffney's Art Blog
Gaffney A. Jarrell was raised in Atlanta, where she studied at the Alliance Theatre Company. She is a self-taught artist. Atlanta knows her as the “Heartist” because of her abstract painted hearts. In 2010 she replaced her hearts with brightly colored abstract landscapes. Gaffney was chosen as “Female Artist of the Year” in 2011 by Belle Magazine. Most recently, Gaffney was included in the book “Artists Among Us”, highlighting 100 of Spartanburg’s local artists.

Painted Bird Houses!
My students at Cannons Elementary painted birdhouses using primary colors and patterns with polka dots and strips! What a great group of kindergartners!!......mixing the primary colors ...making green and purple! I am so proud of them! Thank you to Miss Huckabee and Nichole Myers, teachers at Cannons Elementary School.
