Gaffney A. Jarrell was raised in Atlanta, where she studied at the Alliance Theatre Company. She is a self-taught artist. Atlanta knows her as the “Heartist” because of her abstract painted hearts.
In 2010 she replaced her hearts with brightly colored abstract landscapes.
Gaffney was chosen as “Female Artist of the Year” in 2011 by Belle Magazine. Most recently, Gaffney was included in the book “Artists Among Us”, highlighting 100 of Spartanburg’s local artists.
